To Be A Mother
I am here.
In this place where I don't know what to do. Do I stay in a "safe" zone and show my girls that taking risks isn't as important as stability? Or do I jump and fight to stand to show my girls that with dedication and sacrifice, you can conquer anything? There's a grey area though. The unsure ness of it all. The messy questions and doubts.
What's more important? What will make you, your family better off? What will make you happy?
You are always asked at some point in your life what does your heart want. But what if your brain says something different? Is it worth taking the jump if you fall? What if jumping comes with sacrifices that take awhile for others to understand?
To make myself happy, to make my family happy, are not in sync with each other.
breathe.
Living in "if" and "do I" are hard things to break. This, of course, is coming from someone who plans everything as much as possible and creates lists and power points to come to a decision.
I used to be a person who flowed. Nothing ever rattled me. Becoming a mother literally cracks open your chest and your heart, your children, create such a soft spot that even a wisp of air makes you worry at times. Maybe I'm being too emotional about it. But Children create something in parents. Be it a soft spot, vulnerability or what have you. The point is it isn't a bad thing. It makes your more cautious. It means you need to look before you jump. I do not believe for one minute that the girls are holding me back.
They make me think before I step
They help me understand, in depth, what a good and bad decision leads to.
But they also make me want to be the best person I can be. I want to be their proof that in today's crappy world, you can still be YOU and do what you set your mind to.
I want to show them that being genuine and determined can lift your soul up so high, you can't help but smile at the view.
I want to be their hero.

Molar Mayhem
What a beautiful morning!
The sun is shining. The birds are chirping and the smell of coffee fills the air.
I grab my beloved blanket and snuggle up with a good book.
Suddenly, a faint screech pierces the air. I rush to find Emmie sulking and all around pissed at the world.
The birds fly away and the sun hides behind the clouds.
This can only mean one thing in the Crunchy household... TEETHING TIME.
I don't know why but both my girls do not take this well. Poor CC had the high fevers which put me in lunatic mode and then Emmie didn't get her first teeth until nine months which made me a freak for stalking her gums.
Wait, maybe I can't handle teething time well. Whatevs.
Anyways, today we welcome the molars for poor Emmie. Not just one or two but all four. Like big sister like little sister. There was one thing that soothed CC during my non crunchy time and that was alternating ibuprofen and tylanol. Nowadays, I have the amber necklaces and essential oils.
These two things alone have revolutionized teething. Less sadness and pain overall which is pretty damn awesome.
Maybe I am good at this teething thing! There is hope.
But alas the molars have been causing their notorious mayhem without any comfort. No amount of clove oil or amber has soothed her gums. No teething toy or frozen treat has eased her pain. The only thing she has continued to enjoy would be her (ahem MY) boobies. Breastfeeding for the win.
She continues to have her low grade fever (99-102) but that's what I've learned to expect from my girls.
Some tips I have to surviving teething time whether it's the no big deal first tooth or the molars/canines (shutters in fear about canine future) are...
• invest in good amber jewelry for baby and yourself. I HIGHLY suggest MOMMA BEAN STALK. You won't be sorry.
• frozen wash cloth with apple sauce helps the teeth cut through and relieves pain.
• food grade silicone teething toys (I suggest appeteethers) are a good thing on the go and can attach to carriers
• teething tablets which I use if sleep is the last thing on their mind (rarely now that we babywear)
• clove essential oil I suggest do your own research on brands and techniques
• wear all the time. It helps ease babies discomfort along with helps reduce fevers if you do skin to skin
• relax momma easier said than done believe me. After around 5 ER trips with CC I've learned there isn't a normal teething child. It's all a crazy mess. Talk to your babies doctor about fevers and what they believe is considered a normal realm of temperature along with what to do when you're worried.
As for me, I'm going to relax while my crazy baby sleeps away.

**remember I'm no doctor and what works for us may not work for yall. Research guys! Learning is awesome**
New Beginnings
I consider winter a cocoon-like time to build myself up and emerge anew.
3. I need to live in the moment.
The army consists of my followers
The weapon is knowledge.
In order for you guys to take from my blog and put it in effect in you life, there has to be something worth taking. I have to learn about the things that make a person "crunchy". Awesome part is I actually want to learn!
Oh, number 3. There's a great quote that I focus on during a lot of meditation sessions, " If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present."
Worrying is a natural thing. I've accepted that. I have also accepted the wonderful fact that I cannot control everything.
So it begins
Please bare with me folks,I haven't written in almost three years so expect both punctual and grammatical errors. After all I am human.
You see, I'm needing to vent. My lovely husband, Mr C as I will be calling him, has been tortured. I tend to have feelings and opinions about every little thing in my life and he has endured every one of them. Bless his heart. It wasn't until the other day when he looked at me and said that I need to write again. I need to let off some steam that would become...oh, what's the word he used..beneficial to not only me, but to others.
I have this constant desire to help. Especially when it comes to things I've become passionate about such as cloth diapers, breastfeeding, moving and adjusting for both myself and our girls, crazy family situations, self love and so much more. I feel that at a young age, to feel so deeply about anything that didn't contain alcohol must mean that this it's my calling. Now, I'm not saying that all young adults are drunks or that they lack in drive. I mean,I have some pretty awesome friends my age that have accomplished way more than I have but that's not the point. What I'm trying to say is I've got an idea. An idea that I might actually become beneficial in someone else's life. Or at least my knowledge on something. I'm hoping that this will find you. The person who's confused on how to travel with children on any form of transportation. Or the person that's on their second week of breastfeeding and can barely go a feeding without balling their eyes out.
The truth is, I didn't have a go to book or blog when I needed it. I learned through advice and hard work. This will make it easier for some. I do have to say though that the advice and knowledge I write about along with the things I've come across are 100% true and might not work for all situations. Everything and everyone is unique.
I promise to post if you promise to read.
PS trolls belong under a bridge and not on my blog. Bashing and hurtful comments will be removed :)
Happy reading
